Know what restaurants you’ll be visting
Try to find restaurants that serve healthy options such as salads, lean proteins, and whole grains in addition to your get-away favorites
Bring snacks for traveling and between meals
Good options include shelf-stable fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, whole-grain rice cakes, and protein bars.
Stay Hydrated
Bring your favorite water bottle with you on vacation and fill it three times per day so you don’t have to count on finding a drink when you are on the move.
Avoid too much alcohol and sugary drinks
When drinking alcohol, opt for lower-calorie options like light beer, wine, or drinks with unsweetened mixers. Enjoy sugary drinks diluted with sparkling water for a refreshing alternative.
Keep moving
Try renting a bike or going for a swim. Many resorts and hotels offer on-site fitness classes, like yoga or Pilates, which can be a great way to get moving while on vacation.
Be mindful of portion sizes
When you’re ordering food, opt for smaller portions or share with someone at your table. When you’re at a buffet, fill your plate with colorful, whole, plant-based foods like vegetables and fruits and take only what you plan to eat.
